We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two Gambian researchers who were recognized at the Twelfth Global Health EDCTP3 Forum, held in Kigali, Rwanda.
Yankuba Samateh, a GamREMTI scholar, received the Best Poster Presentation for Day 3 award for his impactful research titled:
“Knowledge, Risk Perception, Prevention Practices & Missed Vaccination for Under-Five Cerebrospinal Meningitis Infections Among Caregivers in The Gambia.”
Yankuba is not only a dedicated bioethics scholar, but also serves as an Epidemiologist and Biostatistician at the Ministry of Health, The Gambia. His work highlights the intersection of ethics, public health, and community-based disease prevention.
We also extend our warmest congratulations to Mamadu Baldeh, a PhD fellow from the Disease Control & Elimination Theme at the MRC Unit The Gambia, who won the Best Poster Presentation for Day 2 award for his work titled:
“Evaluating Implementation Strategies for Innovative Point-of-Care Diagnostic Tests for Infectious Disease Management in Africa.”
