Dr. Jainaba Sey-Sawo is the acting head of the Nursing and Reproductive Health Department at the University of The Gambia (UTG). She has been actively involved in teaching since 2006 and conducting research studies, supervising research projects, and mentoring students and faculty members in both public and private institutions. Dr. Sey-Sawo was a scholar at the Global Nurses Policy Institute Leadership training organized by the International Council of Nurse, in Geneva, in 2017. She was recently identified to represent the School of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences as a member of the Gambia Government Joint Medical Research Council Ethics Committee. Similarly, as a young researcher, she collaborated with other professional colleagues to conduct research studies and published them in peer-reviewed journals. One of these papers is on “Teaching and practicing nursing code of ethics and values in The Gambia.”
