The GamREMTI Team participated in the Twelfth European Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) Forum, held from 15th to 20th June 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Rwanda. This prestigious event, organized by Global Health EDCTP3 and the EDCTP Association, brought together policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and global health stakeholders for a week of impactful and meaningful engagement.
Held under the theme “Better Health Through Global Research Partnerships,” the Forum served as a dynamic platform for advancing global health through high-level policy debates, scientific workshops, and valuable networking opportunities. It also showcased the achievements and impact of EDCTP programmes over the past two decades, reaffirming the vital role of collaborative research in strengthening health systems across Africa and beyond.
The GamREMTI Scholars presented two research papers during a parallel session, and a poster presentation:
- Ethical Challenges in Digital Health Data in Africa, and
- Navigating Ethical Dimensions in Climate Health-Related Research in Africa
In addition to their presentations, the team actively participated in scientific symposiums, plenary sessions, workshops, “Meet the Experts” events, and a field visit to the Kicukiro Health Center. As one of our scholars noted, “This engagement has deepened our knowledge, expanded our networks, and reaffirmed our commitment to ethical, impactful research in Africa”.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers for hosting such a meaningful conference and for providing a space to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and foster partnerships that advance global health through research.
